Production test stand for speed sensors with cable variants

A further system for to program and test speed sensors with cable (several variants) has been delivered to an automotive supplier. The system design for this customer is especially standardized and compact including two test set-ups. It is the third system of this type with manual feeding.

For cycle time reduction the system includes two separate test set-ups within the complete frame and housing. After manual placing of the sensor in the sensor seat and electrical contacting the ASIC based sensors are mechanically fixed and then programmed by especially for this application developed electronics from V&B. Therefore the sensor is positioned above a servo motoric and very precisely driven axis with impulse wheel (from original motor vehicle). After programming the sensors are tested regarding several characteristics. The rotating position of the impulse wheel is controlled very accurately. Both test set-ups include an integrated warm stamping unit for passed sensors. A central handling system is used for the automatic feed out of the sensors and placing into a box for passed or not passed components.

For each test set-up a switch cabinet is integrated into the basic frame construction. It incorporates an industrial PC with application specific software, a data acquisition system, the programming electronics, two programmable voltage sources, the PLC and the servo controller.
